In many ways, there is nothing complicated about taking a good photograph. Simplicity if often the key.
Catching a glimpse of the real person is the tricky part and although often the criteria around which the shot is taken can have too much influence over the final image, it's always satisfying when you feel that your portrait captures something a little more.
Likewise, the same principle applies to food or indeed anything that you either feel inspired to photograph or are asked to do so.
